The Capital Campaign

We can't tell the whole story without you.

We’re raising $4 million to transform 226 South Liberty Street into a community history museum — a place where dynamic exhibitions, curated conversations, and public programs bring every era, every neighborhood, and every voice to life.

We believe telling Winston-Salem's history well means telling it whole. Celebratory stories and difficult ones. Luminaries and the lesser-known. Every corner of this city has a story worth keeping.

Donor Advised Fund
If you have a donor advised fund or other charitable fund, you can direct a grant to MUSE Winston-Salem.
Matching Gifts
Make your gift go twice as far—check whether your employer, your spouse’s employer, or a board you serve on offers a matching program.
IRA Distribution
After reaching age 70½, you may contribute up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to MUSEws—tax-free, as long as it goes directly from your IRA.
Real Estate
Donate long-held appreciated real estate to avoid capital gains tax and receive a deduction for the full fair market value of the property.
Deferred & Planned Giving

A deferred gift can maximize your impact. A bequest from founding patron Frank Borden Hanes, Sr. endowed MUSE’s vision.
